libmbim-utils software package provides Utilities to use the MBIM protocol from the command line, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmbim-utils
libmbim-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmbim-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmbim-utils *
You will get with libmbim-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
