How to uninstall or remove libmapnik2.2 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libmapnik2.2 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libmapnik2.2 

Uninstall libmapnik2.2 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libmapnik2.2 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libmapnik2.2 
Use Purging libmapnik2.2

If you use with purge options to libmapnik2.2 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libmapnik2.2 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libmapnik2.2
