libkate-dev software package provides Kate is a codec for karaoke and text encapsulation (dev), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libkate-dev
libkate-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libkate-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libkate-dev *
You will get with libkate-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
