libimobiledevice4 software package provides Library for communicating with the iPhone and iPod Touch, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libimobiledevice4
libimobiledevice4 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libimobiledevice4 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libimobiledevice4 *
You will get with libimobiledevice4 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
