libimobiledevice-utils software package provides Library for communicating with iPhone and iPod Touch devices, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libimobiledevice-utils
libimobiledevice-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libimobiledevice-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libimobiledevice-utils *
You will get with libimobiledevice-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
