How to uninstall or remove libhypre-2.8.0b software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libhypre-2.8.0b package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libhypre-2.8.0b

Uninstall libhypre-2.8.0b including dependent package

If you would like to remove libhypre-2.8.0b and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libhypre-2.8.0b

Use Purging libhypre-2.8.0b

If you use with purge options to libhypre-2.8.0b package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libhypre-2.8.0b

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libhypre-2.8.0b
