How to uninstall or remove libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0

Uninstall libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0

Use Purging libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0

If you use with purge options to libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0
