How to uninstall or remove libgomp1 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libgomp1 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libgomp1

Uninstall libgomp1 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libgomp1 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgomp1
Use Purging libgomp1

If you use with purge options to libgomp1 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libgomp1

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgomp1
