How to uninstall or remove libgirepository-1.0-1 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libgirepository-1.0-1 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libgirepository-1.0-1 

Uninstall libgirepository-1.0-1 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libgirepository-1.0-1 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgirepository-1.0-1 
Use Purging libgirepository-1.0-1

If you use with purge options to libgirepository-1.0-1 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libgirepository-1.0-1 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgirepository-1.0-1
