How to uninstall or remove libecal-1.2-16 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libecal-1.2-16 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libecal-1.2-16

Uninstall libecal-1.2-16 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libecal-1.2-16 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libecal-1.2-16

Use Purging libecal-1.2-16

If you use with purge options to libecal-1.2-16 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libecal-1.2-16

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libecal-1.2-16
