libdigest-md5-file-perl software package provides Perl extension for getting MD5 sums for files and urls, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdigest-md5-file-perl
libdigest-md5-file-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdigest-md5-file-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdigest-md5-file-perl *
You will get with libdigest-md5-file-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
