libcharls-dev software package provides Implementation of the JPEG-LS standard (development libraries), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcharls-dev
libcharls-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcharls-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcharls-dev *
You will get with libcharls-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
