How to Install libcfitsio3-dev software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

libcfitsio3-dev software package provides static library for I/O with FITS format data files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libcfitsio3-dev

libcfitsio3-dev is installed in your system.

Make ensure the libcfitsio3-dev package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcfitsio3-dev *

You will get with libcfitsio3-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
