How to uninstall or remove libcdk5 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libcdk5 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libcdk5 

Uninstall libcdk5 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libcdk5 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcdk5 
Use Purging libcdk5

If you use with purge options to libcdk5 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libcdk5 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcdk5
