libbam-dev software package provides manipulates nucleotide sequence alignments in BAM or SAM format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libbam-dev
libbam-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libbam-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libbam-dev *
You will get with libbam-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
