libavformat-extra-54 software package provides Libav file format library (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libavformat-extra-54
libavformat-extra-54 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libavformat-extra-54 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libavformat-extra-54 *
You will get with libavformat-extra-54 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
