libakonadi-ruby1.8 software package provides transitional package for ruby-akonadi, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libakonadi-ruby1.8
libakonadi-ruby1.8 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libakonadi-ruby1.8 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libakonadi-ruby1.8 *
