lib32nss-mdns software package provides NSS module for mDNS name resolution (amd64 transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lib32nss-mdns
lib32nss-mdns is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lib32nss-mdns package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lib32nss-mdns *
You will get with lib32nss-mdns package name, version, architecture and description in a table
