latex-sanskrit software package provides pre-processor and fonts to typeset Sanskrit in TeX, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install latex-sanskrit
latex-sanskrit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the latex-sanskrit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep latex-sanskrit *
You will get with latex-sanskrit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
