i3-wm-dbg software package provides Debugging symbols for the i3 window manager, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install i3-wm-dbg
i3-wm-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the i3-wm-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep i3-wm-dbg *
You will get with i3-wm-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
