hardening-includes software package provides Makefile for enabling compiler flags for security hardening, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hardening-includes
hardening-includes is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hardening-includes package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hardening-includes *
You will get with hardening-includes package name, version, architecture and description in a table
