grub-rescue-pc software package provides GRUB bootable rescue images, version 2 (PC/BIOS version), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install grub-rescue-pc
grub-rescue-pc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the grub-rescue-pc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep grub-rescue-pc *
You will get with grub-rescue-pc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
