gpstrans software package provides communicate with a Garmin Global Positioning System receiver, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gpstrans
gpstrans is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gpstrans package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gpstrans *
You will get with gpstrans package name, version, architecture and description in a table
