gnome-raw-thumbnailer software package provides RAW file thumbnailer for GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-raw-thumbnailer
gnome-raw-thumbnailer is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-raw-thumbnailer package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-raw-thumbnailer *
You will get with gnome-raw-thumbnailer package name, version, architecture and description in a table
