gnome-ppp software package provides modem internet connection tool for the GNOME Desktop, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-ppp
gnome-ppp is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-ppp package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-ppp *
You will get with gnome-ppp package name, version, architecture and description in a table
