gnome-media-player software package provides A simple media player for GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-media-player
gnome-media-player is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-media-player package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-media-player *
You will get with gnome-media-player package name, version, architecture and description in a table
