gnome-icon-theme-symbolic software package provides GNOME desktop icon theme (symbolic icons), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-icon-theme-symbolic
gnome-icon-theme-symbolic is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-icon-theme-symbolic package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-icon-theme-symbolic *
You will get with gnome-icon-theme-symbolic package name, version, architecture and description in a table
