gmail-notify software package provides Notify the arrival of new mail on Gmail, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gmail-notify
gmail-notify is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gmail-notify package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gmail-notify *
You will get with gmail-notify package name, version, architecture and description in a table
