geda-gsymcheck software package provides GPL EDA -- Electronics design software (symbol checker), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install geda-gsymcheck
geda-gsymcheck is installed in your system.
Make ensure the geda-gsymcheck package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep geda-gsymcheck *
You will get with geda-gsymcheck package name, version, architecture and description in a table
