ftools-fv software package provides Tool for viewing and editing FITS format files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ftools-fv
ftools-fv is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ftools-fv package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ftools-fv *
You will get with ftools-fv package name, version, architecture and description in a table
