el-get software package provides install and manage elisp code for Emacs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install el-get
el-get is installed in your system.
Make ensure the el-get package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep el-get *
You will get with el-get package name, version, architecture and description in a table
