cutechess software package provides commandline and graphical interface for chess engine vs. engine matches, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cutechess
cutechess is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cutechess package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cutechess *
You will get with cutechess package name, version, architecture and description in a table
