How to uninstall or remove clam-chordata software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed clam-chordata package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove clam-chordata

Uninstall clam-chordata including dependent package

If you would like to remove clam-chordata and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove clam-chordata

Use Purging clam-chordata

If you use with purge options to clam-chordata package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge clam-chordata

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove clam-chordata
