chipmunk-dev software package provides Fast and lightweight 2D rigid body physics library - devel, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install chipmunk-dev
chipmunk-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the chipmunk-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep chipmunk-dev *
You will get with chipmunk-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
