How to uninstall or remove libclamav7 software package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libclamav7 package itself from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libclamav7

Uninstall libclamav7 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libclamav7 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libclamav7

Use Purging libclamav7

If you use with purge options to libclamav7 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libclamav7

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libclamav7
