How to uninstall or remove libassimp2 software package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libassimp2 package itself from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libassimp2 

Uninstall libassimp2 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libassimp2 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libassimp2 
Use Purging libassimp2

If you use with purge options to libassimp2 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libassimp2 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libassimp2
