How to uninstall or remove libasound2 software package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libasound2 package itself from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libasound2

Uninstall libasound2 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libasound2 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libasound2

Use Purging libasound2

If you use with purge options to libasound2 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libasound2

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libasound2
