libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl software package provides module to find differences between files (XS accelerated), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl
libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libalgorithm-diff-xs-perl *
