How to uninstall or remove lib64ncurses5 software package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

You can uninstall or removes an installed lib64ncurses5 package itself from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove lib64ncurses5

Uninstall lib64ncurses5 including dependent package

If you would like to remove lib64ncurses5 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove lib64ncurses5

Use Purging lib64ncurses5

If you use with purge options to lib64ncurses5 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge lib64ncurses5

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove lib64ncurses5
