latex-make software package provides easy compiling of complex (and simple) LaTeX documents, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install latex-make
latex-make is installed in your system.
Make ensure the latex-make package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep latex-make *
You will get with latex-make package name, version, architecture and description in a table
