keymon software package provides screencast utility that displays your keyboard and mouse status, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install keymon
keymon is installed in your system.
Make ensure the keymon package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep keymon *
You will get with keymon package name, version, architecture and description in a table
