jenkins-slave software package provides Jenkins slave node helper, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jenkins-slave
jenkins-slave is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jenkins-slave package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jenkins-slave *
You will get with jenkins-slave package name, version, architecture and description in a table
