jackd software package provides JACK Audio Connection Kit (default server package), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jackd
jackd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jackd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jackd *
You will get with jackd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
