iputils-tracepath software package provides Tools to trace the network path to a remote host, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install iputils-tracepath
iputils-tracepath is installed in your system.
Make ensure the iputils-tracepath package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep iputils-tracepath *
You will get with iputils-tracepath package name, version, architecture and description in a table
