inetutils-ftpd software package provides File Transfer Protocol server, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install inetutils-ftpd
inetutils-ftpd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the inetutils-ftpd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep inetutils-ftpd *
You will get with inetutils-ftpd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
