icicles software package provides emacs library that enhances minibuffer/input completion, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install icicles
icicles is installed in your system.
Make ensure the icicles package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep icicles *
You will get with icicles package name, version, architecture and description in a table
