googleearth-package software package provides utility to automatically build a Debian package of Google Earth, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install googleearth-package
googleearth-package is installed in your system.
Make ensure the googleearth-package package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep googleearth-package *
You will get with googleearth-package package name, version, architecture and description in a table
