How to Install gnome software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

gnome software package provides The GNOME Desktop Environment, with extra components, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gnome 

gnome is installed in your system.

Make ensure the gnome package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome *

You will get with gnome package name, version, architecture and description in a table
