gmetad software package provides cluster monitoring toolkit - Ganglia Meta-Daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gmetad
gmetad is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gmetad package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gmetad *
You will get with gmetad package name, version, architecture and description in a table
