gcj-4.6-jre software package provides Java runtime environment using GIJ/classpath, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcj-4.6-jre
gcj-4.6-jre is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcj-4.6-jre package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcj-4.6-jre *
You will get with gcj-4.6-jre package name, version, architecture and description in a table
